Labor day weekend stuff

Post  Eric [LT] on 29th August 2008, 3:43 pm

Well, we have graphs to make, SG to finish and a set of study questions. Make sure everyone finishes up their labs!
But here, I opened this new thread up for discussion.

Un pregunta, Mr. Kirk said he'd fix the schedule and put the rest of the study guide and get rid of some of the Study Questions, but I did not see this happen. I may have been too busy, but the problem remains the same. Is there a new schedule, or am I just doing exactly what the schedule said?

He took off two SQ. They were written on the board.
He never made a new "schedule" he just enhanced the one we had.

Ugh. I thought we agreed to get on Sunday at 8:00, but I seem to be the only one who did. To avoid further confusion, can we all get on tomorrow at like...6? That would be WONDERFUL! Cuz I'm a bit lost as to what to do. =/ Thanks!

Well we pretty much just ask questions about the study guide and whatnot, but I plan on finishing that tomorrow so I will help more then. He took off questions 39 and 43.

SQ 31 from the night previous to the current night's homework and number 5 from the current? If so, for question 31 remember that the most abundant isotope has a mass closer to that of the atomic mass. That should point you in the right direction.

For question number five, read pages 49 and 50. Your answer should be evident after reading those.

I have a question concerning how many significant figures you use in question 37. I read that you use one or more sig figs when using molar mass, but I'm not sure what to use when converting the 4.24 moles of Gold into whatever it's weight in grams is. Should the sig fig for the molar mass be 4 sig figs?

Does the actinide series count as elements in period 7 of the periodic table of elements?

Question 9 on the SQ wasn't Li-6. Remember the isotope that is most abundant is the one that is closest to the atomic mass. SQ 15, 17, and 19 are easily found on the internet, just type in "uses for *insert element here*". Question 18 on the SG can be found here: http://www.dayah.com/periodic/
